Administrative and Support Roles

Supporting Primary Care Across Australia

GPAC-N is building a national support team that helps General Practitioners deliver care across general practice, aged care, and community settings.

Our administrative team plays a critical role in supporting clinicians, coordinating services, ensuring billing accuracy, and maintaining strong relationships with facilities and patients.

Unlike traditional practice administration roles, GPAC-N administrative positions are remote-first, allowing you to work from home while contributing to the delivery of primary healthcare across your region.

Administration Streams

Administrative roles within GPAC-N operate across several specialised streams, supporting clinicians, patients, and facilities across the network.

Stakeholder Management

Support onboarding of RACFs, coordinate patient enrolment, manage enquiries, and maintain strong relationships between GPs, facilities, and patients.

MBS & Billing Compliance

Process billings to Medicare and DVA, assist with billing corrections, track GPACI requirements, and help doctors optimise compliant billing.

HR & Workforce Support

Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of a diverse and mobile workforce of GPs, Nurse Practitioners, and nurses across Australia.

Career Growth Pathways

GPAC-N is designed as a growing national network, creating opportunities for administrative team members to progress into leadership roles.

One of the key pathways is the Area Manager role.

Area Managers

Area Managers are the GPAC-N equivalent of Practice Managers, responsible for supporting the clinical and operational needs of clinicians within their allocated region.

Area Managers oversee:

  • GP and Nurse Practitioner support

  • Operational coordination across facilities and services

  • Workforce coordination

  • Stakeholder relationships within their PHN or region

  • Service quality and operational performance

To support professional development, GPAC-N contributes to Area Managers’ membership with the Australian Association of Practice Managers (AAPM).
