After Hours Doctors
Support RACF Residents When It Matters Most
GPAC-N is developing a dedicated after-hours medical support service for Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) within our network.
This service is designed to ensure residents have access to timely medical advice outside normal visiting hours while maintaining continuity with their regular GP.
Unlike traditional locum-style services, GPAC-N after-hours doctors operate as part of the care team, with access to clinical records and communication pathways with the resident’s usual GP.
A Service Designed for RACFs Already in the Network
The after-hours service is restricted to Residential Aged Care Facilities currently supported by GPAC-N.
This allows us to maintain a consistent standard of care and ensures after-hours doctors have access to appropriate patient information.
Key Features
GPAC-N’s after-hours model is designed to give doctors flexible access to meaningful RACF work, while supporting continuity of care across facilities already in the network.
No 19AB Moratorium Issues
This after-hours model is intended to provide flexible RACF work without the usual barriers of a traditional clinic-based arrangement. For many doctors, this may offer a pathway to participate in aged care work without the same 19AB limitations that can apply in other settings.
Work When It Suits You
Choose when you want to work and join a pool of doctors who are notified when after-hours work becomes available. This gives you flexibility to fit RACF work around your clinic sessions, family commitments, or other professional interests.
Job Offers, Tracking and Reporting Software
GPAC-N provides software to support after-hours work allocation, job acceptance, tracking, documentation workflows, and reporting. This helps create a more organised and reliable service for both doctors and facilities.
Access to Patient GP Notes
During the consult, you will have access to the resident’s GP notes and relevant clinical information, helping you make better-informed decisions and provide care as part of a connected care team rather than in isolation.
Part of the Team
This is not a disconnected deputising service. GPAC-N after-hours doctors support RACFs that are already part of the GPAC-N network, allowing after-hours care to be delivered as an extension of the broader daytime care team.
Pilot Program Opportunity
This service is currently in pilot phase. We are welcoming expressions of interest from doctors who would like to be part of the after-hours team as the model is developed and expanded.
Pilot Program
The GPAC-N after-hours service is currently being developed as a pilot program.
We are now inviting expressions of interest from doctors who would like to participate once the service launches.
If you are interested in flexible after-hours RACF work with appropriate clinical support, we would be pleased to hear from you.
